Every Component is Useful and Valuable

In education every so many years they roll out a "new" program. You go to the training and they give you a teachers guide and a box with all the program components. Each component is designed to help you teach a particular area or domain. If you teach English there are, among others, Grammar, Comprehension and Writing. A few times some have turned out to be pretty useful. Now, as Christians, in Christ, we have been given some very useful and extremely valuable "components."
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment -- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under on head, even Christ." Ephesians 1:7-10
What you have been freely given is redemption, the forgiveness of sins. You are redeemed. There is a hardware store I often go to and they always have a coupon where if you buy anything you can redeem something for free. I grab that free item and redeem it at the counter and take it home with me. When God redeems you, he takes you out of sin and brings you into a life of forgiveness and grace. Your redemption is God's good pleasure. God is pleased to make you his own. This is the wisdom and understanding of God. Unlike, new programs with some useful components, every aspect of God's redemption, his forgiveness, the realization and knowledge that all things will be under Christ, is of great value to you.

God so loved you that he sent his one and only Son to die to redeem you from the captivity of sin. This is good news. Whatever is trying to hold you down, whatever sin is seeking to enslave you, remember this: you are redeemed in Christ. Your sins have been forgiven.

Father, thank you for redeeming us through the the blood of Christ. Praise be to you in us today!
