But wait, there's more!

Have you ever seen the info-mercial where the guy says, "But wait there's more! We'll even throw in..." My youngest son likes watching those and is always telling me about some gadget. A similar sales guy was at my local Costco selling some "amazing, never needs sharpening, can even cut through metal and not loose its' sharpness" knives. I picked up the free sample knife for enduring his "presentation". When we got home I used the knife and it didn't quite live up to its' billing. I showed my son how not everything you hear is true.

Now, the Bible, God's Word, is different. The first verses of Ephesians boldly proclaim the spiritual blessings we have been given in Christ. They are true. We are chosen, but wait there is more, we are predestined. But wait there is more, we are adopted as sons. We have redemption. But wait there is more, the forgiveness of sins, the making known of the mystery of his will, and being chosen. Which brings us to today. But wait there is more...
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession  - to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14
I am blessed to help with my youngest sons' Cub Scout Pack. It is great to see them all in uniform. Each Pack has their own number. When you join our Pack we give you the patches with our number. When you have those patches you show that you are part of our Pack. Paul caps off the spiritual blessings we have been given in Christ by reminding us that when we believed the gospel we we were marked with a seal the promised Holy Spirit. That seal is for us, that within our inner beings we can know that we are children of God and call upon his Name. Remember, that no one can say that Jesus is Lord unless the Spirit moves them. Think of the good thoughts as God calling out to you to walk with him.

Thank you Father for sending us your Spirit to cleanse our consciences and lead us into all Truth. Open our hearts and minds to see you in our lives. Praise be to you in us today.

How do you recognize God moving in your life?
