The KISS Principle for Saints

The KISS principle: Keep It Simple Saint.  Fear the Lord and persuade people.

"So, we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience."
II Corinthians 5:9-11

Our goal is to please the Lord by living by faith. I think living by faith, living in the Spirit is realizing we are saved by grace. That is why we fear God because we know that Jesus paid the penalty of our sins. We in turn realize that if it wasn't for the grace of God we would be living our lives bound and enslaved by sin. Many people call this freedom, living for themselves, no one telling them what to do or what is right or wrong. That is the great lie, that "freedom" from obedience to God is truly freedom. No, it is bondage to the cruel and unforgiving control of sin. A derailed train is not free, it is a train wreck. Obedience to God, living by faith, is not bondage, it is true freedom. A train on the tracks is not enslaved by the tracks, it is enabled by the tracks to be what it is supposed to be! When you see someone enslaved by sin persuade them, in love, to find freedom in the mercy, grace and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

Lord, thank you for the freedom we have in You! Help us to live by faith in Your grace and mercy. Use us to persuade others to find freedom, forgiveness and life in Jesus Christ out Lord.
