Have you ever heard someone say that it all depends upon your perspective? Living by faith is about perspective, living for self or living for Christ.
"So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new Creation; the old is gone, the new has come." II Corinthians 5: 16-17
After we come to the realization, the perspective that Jesus died and rose again and that we should die to ourselves and live for Him and serve others, we begin to live life differently. There was a time when we saw Christ and the world around us from a worldly point of view. What does that mean? The apostle John describes it as "the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world" (I John 2"16). Basically, it was all about us.
Now, we no longer view Christ from the worldly point of view. We no longer view life from that worldly point of view either. Let's get right to the point. How we make decisions demonstrates your point of view, worldly or of faith. The new point of view is eternal, spiritual and by faith in Christ. The basis for our decision making is no longer about what can fulfill our cravings and lusts but about what glorifies Christ in us. Think about that. Whatever you are doing today, is it to glorify you or God? The issue is not so much about what you do but if you are doing it by faith and for God's glory or your own.
Father, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Thank you that You make ALL things in my life new! Be glorified in me today!!!
