Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.
If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.
2 Timothy 2:11-13 NIV
The grace of God is amazing. Remember Peter when he denied Christ in the courtyard (Matthew 26:69-75)? The thing that sticks out to me is that Peter was that Peter followed Christ there (see Luke 22:54). Peter fell forward. His faith kind of faltered but, he was still following. He could of gone home or into hiding like most, but, he stumbled forward. Yes, he denied Christ at that moment, but when Christ looked straight at him he wept bitterly. We all know that Christ reaffirmed Peter in John 21. Peter was faithless, Christ remained faithful.
We may have our moments where we are faithless, but, Christ remains faithful. Christ in you, the hope of glory.
