I don't know how it goes in your family, but sometimes I am on the father side of, "Go ask your father." You know what? For the most part I would like to give my children everything, because they usually ask for reasonable stuff. But, I can only give what I can afford. Our Father in heaven has no such issues. And his love is even greater. So, go ask your Father.
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
