Remember What to Seek First

Just a little frame of reference for the holidays.

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or "What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will given you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:28-34

GOT TROUBLES? GOD HEARS YOUR CRY: Psalm 34:17-18

"The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
     he delivers them from all their troubles.
 The LORD is close to the  brokenhearted
     and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
 Psalm 34:17-18

Before I mention anything else I want to remind you that you ARE righteous in Christ (if he is your Savior and Lord) according to I Corinthians 1:30. Christ is YOUR righteousness.

Cry out to  God. What ever is happening in or to your life. Cry out to God. David says that if we cry out to God he will hear us and he will deliver us. Remembering that David was a wanted man. His death was the assurance that King Saul needed to keep his throne. So, that kind of crying out that we are talking about here is life or death crying out. And God delivered him.

How you doing? Are you feeling brokenhearted? Are you crushed in spirit? Cry out to God. He hears you. Sometimes it takes a crisis to remove all the encumbrances from our lives. When you have exhausted every other avenue and only God is left. He hears and he acts.

If you are feeling brokenhearted and or crushed in spirit, God has a special place next to him for you. Just know, he hears and he will deliver you.

Father, thank you that in Christ we are righteous and you do hear us and will deliver us from all our troubles. Thank you for all the troubles you have delivered me from. Praise be to you in us today!
