Set Your Sights

But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”
“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Mark 14:61-62 NIV

We look back to the when Jesus first came and we look forward to the when he will come again reigning in power.

As we start off this new week I encourage to remember that the real purpose of our lives is to advance the Kingdom of God. No matter where you work, God still reigns in you. You are his Kingdom representative. As Paul told the Colossians, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will  receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

So, set your sights on serving Christ in everything you do.

Just Believe

Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
Mark 5:36 NIV

I get it. I would be afraid to believe. I would worry about getting my hopes up. Think about it. From the moment the bearer of bad news came to him until Jesus took the synagogue ruler and his wife and went into the room with their daughter, everyone around them was telling them it was hopeless, don't expect Jesus to do anything.

Jesus only told him to not be afraid, only believe.

I'm going to ask you a question that I want you to take a moment to wait upon the Lord for the answer. What have you been told is dead in your life, that Jesus wants to say, "Arise"?
